Ooze Slim Twist vs Airis Cube 900: Which Budget Pen Is Better?
Two Budget Pens. Very Different Trade-Offs.
The Ooze Slim Twist and Airis Cube 900 are two of the most popular budget pen-style 510 batteries. They’re both under $16, both have variable voltage, both charge via USB-C, and both work with every 510 cart. But they solve different problems, and the right pick depends on what frustrates you most about your current battery.
The Slim Twist gives you a numbered twist dial for precise voltage control. The Cube 900 gives you nearly 3x the battery life and a lifetime warranty. Same price category, completely different priorities.
→ Ooze Slim Twist — $15.99 — 320mAh, 3.3V–4.8V twist dial, preheat, USB-C. Get this for voltage control.
→ Airis Cube 900 — $9.99 — 900mAh, 3.4V/3.7V/4.2V, dual charging (USB-C + Lightning), lifetime warranty. Get this for battery life.

Ooze Slim Twist — The Voltage Control Pick
The Slim Twist’s defining feature is the numbered twist dial at the base. Turn it and the voltage changes continuously from 3.3V to 4.8V — the numbers are printed right on the dial so you always know your exact setting. No clicking through presets. No guessing from LED colors. You see “3.7V” on the dial and that’s what you’re getting.
This matters if you switch between oil types and want to dial in the perfect voltage for each cart. Set it to 3.3V for thinner oils, 3.8V for standard distillate, 4.2V for thick Delta-8. The dial gives you finer control than the Cube 900’s three presets.
Preheat (2-click) warms thick oils before your first hit. Button-activated. USB-C. Slim cylindrical body that’s slimmer in the pocket than the Cube 900’s square profile.
The weakness is battery life. 320mAh is the smallest battery in the Ooze lineup. Heavy users charge twice a day. Moderate users charge daily. If you use your battery throughout the day and hate plugging in, this will frustrate you.
Airis Cube 900 — The Battery Life Pick
The Cube 900 has nearly three times the battery of the Slim Twist — 900mAh vs 320mAh. For moderate users, that’s 2–3 days between charges. For heavy users, a full day without thinking about it. If your main complaint about your current battery is “it dies too fast,” the Cube 900 solves that problem definitively.
Three voltage presets: 3.4V, 3.7V, 4.2V. Click through them with 3 presses of the button. LED colors confirm your setting. It’s less precise than the Slim Twist’s continuous dial, but the three presets cover low, medium, and high well enough for most users who stick to one oil type.
Dual charging is a practical bonus — USB-C on one end and Lightning on the other. Borrow a cable from any phone user and you can charge. Preheat function. Button-activated. The square body shape prevents rolling off tables — a small thing that matters more than you’d think.
And then there’s the lifetime warranty. Airis replaces the Cube 900 if it fails due to manufacturing defects, period. No other battery in this price range offers that.
At $9.99, the Cube 900 costs $6 less than the Slim Twist while delivering 3x the battery life and a lifetime warranty. On pure specs-per-dollar, it’s hard to beat.
Where Each One Wins
The Slim Twist wins on:
– Voltage precision — continuous dial with printed numbers vs 3 presets
– Voltage range — 3.3V–4.8V is wider than 3.4V–4.2V
– Lower voltage floor — 3.3V vs 3.4V (marginal, but real)
– Slimmer profile — fits easier in tight pockets
The Cube 900 wins on:
– Battery life — 900mAh vs 320mAh, nearly 3x the capacity
– Price — $9.99 vs $15.99, saves you $6
– Warranty — lifetime vs standard
– Dual charging — USB-C + Lightning, charge from any cable
– Anti-roll — square body stays where you put it
Which One Should You Buy?
Get the Slim Twist if: You vape multiple oil types and want to fine-tune voltage for each one. The twist dial with printed numbers gives you precision that 3 presets can’t match. You don’t mind charging daily and you prefer the slimmer pen profile.
Get the Cube 900 if: You’re tired of mid-day charging. 900mAh lasts 2–3 days for most users. You want the best value — more battery, lower price, lifetime warranty. You stick to one oil type and don’t need granular voltage control.
Get both if: Slim Twist as your at-home precision battery where charging is convenient. Cube 900 as your out-of-the-house all-day battery where longevity matters. Together they cost $26 — less than most single premium batteries.
What About Neither?
Both the Slim Twist and Cube 900 have voltage floors above 3.0V. If you vape live resin or CBD — oils that perform best at 2.0V–2.8V — neither of these batteries can go low enough. For those oil types, consider:
Ooze Smart Battery ($11.99) — 650mAh, 2.0V floor, 5 voltage settings, LED screen. More battery than the Slim Twist, lower voltage than the Cube 900, priced between both.
Yocan Kodo Star ($19.99) — 400mAh, 1.8V floor, 0.1V precision, OLED screen. Not a pen shape, but the best overall battery under $20 if low voltage and precision matter.

Can I use either of these with 2g carts? Both have open-top 510 threads, so physically a 2g cart screws on. But wider 2g carts may look disproportionately large on slim pen bodies and could make them top-heavy. If you primarily use 2g carts, a box-style battery like the Yocan Kodo Star or a concealed battery with a wide chamber is a more practical fit.
