Why Is My Vape Gurgling?

Tank Gurgle Sound

Your vape device has suddenly started making spitting, gurgling sounds, or flooding – what should you do?

The likely cause is that within the coil, there is an excess amount of e-liquid. The coil has become oversaturated and is being overwhelmed with your e-juice. Because all of that liquid can’t be vaporized, spit back, leakage, gurgling, etc. are the result.

But there is good news! We’ve got a handful of tips to help you reduce your tank’s or coil’s gurgling, flooding, and spitting;

1. Check the Assembly of Your Tank

Regardless of the model or make, every tank needs vacuum pressure to function correctly. An airtight seal must be present. To ensure that everything is put together securely and properly, make sure that the various components of your tank are assembled correctly. Excess air might also be getting into your tank if there are gaps or cracks in a part.

2. During Priming, Is There Excess E-Liquid?

To start enjoying a good vape, you must prime a new coil. The taste is more flavorful, richer, and a longer-lasting, thicker vapor results from a properly primed coil. You can also avoid burnt or dry hits this way. But gurgling and flooding can result if, to a new coil, too much e-juice is added. To properly prime a new coil, the kind of coil you have is what will determine the amount of e-fluid you need. Less liquid is required for smaller coils.

If, during priming, you add too much liquid accidentally, take the coil out. To get rid of the excess fluid, shake it, and then wrap a paper towel around it. If the towel is tight enough it will soak up the excess e-fluid. If flooding still occurs, to expel the rest of the unneeded e-liquid, powerfully blow air through the coil.

3. Your Hits That Are Too Forceful

If you take big, forceful, extremely long hits from your device, this can cause gurgling and flooding. It happens a lot with individuals that have quit cigarettes and switched to vaping instead. A slightly loosed air intake and softer hits can help reduce this problem. If you feel like you have to take those big hits because you’re just not getting enough of a hit, make sure that airflow is not restricted by clogged holes, crannies, or nooks. They can be cleaned out with a toothpick or run under water and then dried.

4. Check the Level of Your E-Juice

There is a maximum e-fluid capacity on every tank. Some are smaller (less juice), some are bigger (more juice). Spit back, gurgling, and flooding can result from overfilling. Never fill your tank past the level of your chimney or air hole.

Additional problems that can result in spitting, flooding, gurgling, etc. are incorrect wattage settings and faulty coils. Set your voltage/wattage to the range that is recommended. Make sure your coils are cleaned on a regular basis and changed as needed.

Don’t let your vaping experience be ruined by gurgling, spit back, flooding, etc. Keep these tips in mind so that you can always enjoy a good vape, excellent flavor, and big, fluffy clouds.
