FDA to Reclassify Cannabis – Time to Declassify!

Time to Declassify Marijuana!

It’s a symbolic new chapter in the War on Drugs. Could the historic reclassification of cannabis from a Schedule I to Schedule III drug – lead to declassifying cannabis altogether?

The US Drug Enforcement Administration is planning to reclassify marijuana from a Schedule I drug, down to a Schedule III drug;

  • Schedule I Drugs:
    • Cannabis is currently a Schedule I drug
    • Alongside ecstasy, heroin and LSD
  • Schedule III Drugs:
    • Cannabis is planned to be “reclassified” to a Schedule III drug
    • Alongside steroids, Tylenol with codeine, and ketamine

Schedule 3 drugs are defined as drugs, “with a moderate to low potential for physical and psychological abuse”. This is clearly a much more accurate definition of cannabis, than the Schedule 1 classification drugs “no currently accepted medical use and a high potential for abuse”. To date, 38 states have legalized cannabis for medical purposes. The medical consensus is that marijuana does have medicinal benefits.

Declassify Marijuana

So is reclassifying marijuana a success story? It’s certainly a huge step in the right direction. The ultimate dream has be to declassify marijuana from list of controlled-substances altogether. This is how alcohol, arguably a drug that does much more damage to our country, is treated.

Alcohol vs. Weed

The sheer insanity of the how our society treats alcohol vs. weed, is shown artistically in the track The Irony of It All by The Streets. Alcohol and cannabis have roughly the same effect on your cognitive abilities, reflexes, and judgment. It’s pretty objective that alcohol costs our economy more and has a worse effect on the health of the nation.

🎵Hello. My names Tim and I’m a criminal
In the eyes of society I need to be in jail
For the choice of herbs I inhale
This ain’t no wholesale operation
Just a few eighths and some Playstations my’s vocation
I pose a threat to the nation
And down the station the police hold no patience
Let’s talk space and time
I like to get deep sometimes and think about Einstein
And Carl Jung
And old Kung Fu movies I like to see🎵

“50 Years of Failed Marijuana Policy”

What do we think? We strongly believe in the freedom of choice. As long as you’re 21 years or over, you should be free to make your own decisions. It’s not for the government to decide how you spend your own money.

Prohibition of alcohol didn’t work in the 1920’s (other than the legacy of dope speakeasy bars and hot-rod cars). Neither has the war on drugs. It’s time the government cut their losses, move toward a more progressive federal approach, and de-classified weed.

In April 2024, Democratic lawmakers sent a letter to the DEA and Attorney General to declassify marijuana altogether. In the punchy letter, the DEA was told “Right now, the Administration has the opportunity to resolve more than 50 years of failed, racially discriminatory marijuana policy.”

Public Opinion Supports Legalization

A Gallup poll conducted in 2023, found that 70% of US adults support the legalization of marijuana use. The nation has reached a broad consensus on legalizing marijuana.

Vape THCA Flower + Inhale THC!

If you enjoy weed, then why not try classic THCA flower. Thanks to a process called “decarboxylation”, THCA becomes THC when it’s heated above 221°F. Heating the THCA triggers a process called decarboxylation, where the “A” carboxyl group in THCA is removed, transforming it into the familiar Delta-9-THC (and CO2). This means the effects of inhaling THCA are the same as regular THC weed! Read more about decarboxylation in the Truth About THCA here!

You can vape THCA flower using a dry herb vape or roll it up using a blunt wrap. There are a range of indica, sativa and hybrid strains to explore – Buy THCA Flower here!
