The Lookah Dragon Egg is a really unique device. It’s a compact vaporizer that uses a percolator to bubble your dab vapor through water. It’s a very similar concept to a traditional electric dab rig – but it’s a lot more compact and portable than most. It also has a really interesting look to it, thanks to the ‘spine and backbone’ design. The Dragon Egg name follows on in Lookah series of aquatic and mythical creatures – Unicorn, Swordfish, Snail & Seahorse.

The Dragon Egg is a dab device. Inside the box – You get an authentic certification and warranty card. It’s always reassuring when brands do this – It shows they’re willing to put their money where their mouth is. So well done Lookah for this.

Build Quality

The Dragon Egg is made out of high-quality materials, and feels really well-built. It’s got a nice weight to it, and the glass mouthpiece feels great on the lips. One thing that concerned us initially, is that the bottom half of the device is made from transparent plastic (rather than glass). But you’ll see Mike smash this against the table. He smashes it hard – and the plastic doesn’t break! That’s what Mike calls ‘destruction testing’. And hey – it passed.

Preparation

To use the Dragon Egg, first unscrew the bottom half of the device and fill it halfway with cool (clean!) water. Then simply snap the magnetic cap back from the chamber and load your concentrates into the bowl. Turn on the device by hitting the power button 5 times. You’ll feel the device vibrate & the digital display flash. It will then give you a countdown from 10. Your wax will heat up quickly thanks to the Quartz, so you don’t have to wait around for too long.

Performance

In the video – Mike tests the Dragon Egg with some Drip Diamonds, which he loads with the Puffco Hot Knife. He then inhales long and the Dragon Egg produces a huge cloud (perhaps Mike inhales a bit too hard?). It delivers a really smooth and flavorful vapor. The water cools the dab vapor down, and it also helps to preserve the flavor of the diamond concentrates. You’ll see in the video – that Mike is literally jumping for joy after his hit!

Design

The ribcage shaped percolator has a really unique and eye-catching design. Given how small the device is – Lookah needed to fit in a lot of distance that the vapor can pass through the water. They achieved this by organizing the airway tubes in a ribcage and backbone layout – so the vapor passes through plenty of water inside the chamber. This in effect super-cools your vapor. The ribcage percolator is a super effective design choice – and it looks great!

Final Verdict

Overall, we’re really impressed with the Lookah Dragon Egg. Mike took his home with him, and has enjoyed many a fun session on the couch with it. It has innovative design features, and visual flourishes that make it stand out from the crowd. It delivers a quality performance from your dab. The Dragon Egg keeps the flavor potent, but the water cools it for a nice smooth delivery.
