Ooze Bot Review: Is the Robot 510 Battery Worth $25?
A Robot Whose Face Is a Vape Screen
The Ooze Bot is a robot-shaped 510 battery. That sentence alone makes most people assume it’s a toy that barely works. It’s not. Behind the character design sits a 650mAh battery with 0.1V voltage precision, a digital screen that doubles as the robot’s face, dual 510 threads, preheat, and glow-in-the-dark color options. It’s the most feature-rich novelty battery on the market — and one of the only novelty batteries we’d recommend as a daily driver.
Here’s the full breakdown.
🛒 QUICK VERDICT:
→ Ooze Bot — $24.99 — 650mAh, 1.8V–4.2V (0.1V steps), digital face screen, dual 510 threads (concealed + top mount), 15-second preheat, glow-in-dark, detachable legs, wrist strap. A novelty battery with specs that compete with serious devices.
What It Does
The Bot stands upright on two detachable legs. The face on its body is the digital screen — battery percentage at the top, voltage in the center, puff counter at the bottom. The right dial on the head adjusts voltage via a twist mechanism. The left dial is the fire button.
It has two 510 connections. The first is inside the body — pull the legs apart to reveal a concealed chamber that fits 0.5g and standard 1g carts. The cart hides completely inside the robot when the legs are closed. The second is on top of the head — an open 510 thread for larger carts (2g+) that won’t fit inside the body. You choose which connection to use based on your cart size.
The twist dial adjusts voltage from 1.8V to 4.2V in 0.1V increments. That’s 24 distinct settings — the same precision as the Yocan Kodo Star and Cartisan Inspector, which are “serious” batteries costing similar money. The screen updates in real time as you turn the dial.
Preheat runs at 1.8V for 15 seconds — longer than most batteries (typically 8–10 seconds). Double-click to activate. The screen shows the preheat cycle in progress.
Button-activated only. No auto-draw. USB-C charging.
What’s Good
The specs don’t match the design — in a good way. You see a cartoon robot and expect 3 voltage presets and a 350mAh battery. Instead you get 0.1V precision across a 1.8V–4.2V range, 650mAh, a digital screen with puff counter, and a 15-second preheat. These are specs you’d find on a $25–30 “serious” battery. The fact that they’re inside a glow-in-the-dark robot is the bonus, not the selling point.
Dual 510 threads solve the one problem most novelty batteries have. Most character batteries have one connection point that doesn’t fit every cart. The Bot gives you two: a concealed chamber inside the body for standard carts and an open thread on top for oversized 2g+ carts. Every cart you own works with this battery — you just pick which port.
The face screen is genuinely useful. It’s not just a cosmetic gimmick. The screen shows your exact voltage, battery percentage as a number, and total puff count. Having that data on the robot’s face means you see it every time you pick the device up. No button press required to check your status — just glance at the face.
The 15-second preheat is the longest on any battery we carry. Most batteries preheat for 8–10 seconds. The Bot runs for 15 seconds at 1.8V. For very thick oils — Delta-8, cold live resin, heavy distillate — the extra 5–7 seconds of warming makes a noticeable difference in flow and first-hit smoothness.
The detachable legs are a real design feature. Each leg pops off and snaps back on via magnets. Buy a second Bot in a different color and swap legs for custom combos. It’s a small thing, but it adds collector appeal — especially for people who buy multiple Ooze character batteries (Bot, Hoot, Shroom) and want to mix and match.
What’s Not
It’s not discreet. This is a glow-in-the-dark robot. Nobody is going to mistake it for a lighter, a pen, or a nicotine disposable. If stealth matters, the Bot is the wrong battery. It’s designed to be seen, held, and shown off — not hidden. For concealment, the Cartisan Veil Bar Neo ($19.99) or CCELL Kap ($12.99) are better choices.
Button-only activation. No auto-draw. You have to press the left head dial while inhaling. Not a dealbreaker — most batteries are button-activated — but if you specifically want inhale-to-fire simplicity, the Bot doesn’t offer it.
The concealed leg chamber is tight. It fits 0.5g and standard 1g carts with round mouthpieces. Wider 1g carts or carts with flat/duck-bill mouthpieces may not fit inside. They’ll work fine on the top head mount, but you lose the concealment feature. Test your specific cart before assuming it fits inside the legs.
$24.99 is mid-range, not budget. You’re paying for the character design, dual 510 threads, and the screen-as-face concept. If you strip away the novelty and just want the specs (650mAh, 0.1V, screen, preheat), the Yocan Kodo Star delivers comparable performance for $19.99 — minus the robot body and dual 510.
Bot vs Hoot vs Shroom
Ooze makes three character batteries on the same platform. All three share the same internals: 650mAh, 1.8V–4.2V (0.1V), digital screen, dual 510, preheat, USB-C, glow-in-dark, detachable parts, $24.99.
The only difference is the character design:
– Bot = Robot. Screen is the face. Detachable legs.
– Hoot = Owl. Glow-in-dark eyes. Detachable parts.
– Shroom = Mushroom. Glow-in-dark cap. Detachable parts.
Performance is identical. Pick the character you like.
Who Should Buy the Bot
People who want fun gear that actually performs. The Bot is the only novelty battery with 0.1V precision, a real digital screen, and dual 510 threads. Most character batteries sacrifice specs for design. The Bot doesn’t.
Gift buyers. The Bot is the most gift-ready battery we sell. It looks cool in the box, it’s a conversation starter, and the recipient doesn’t need to be a vape expert to use it. Five clicks on, twist the dial, press the button, inhale.
Collectors. If you already own Ooze character batteries (or plan to), the detachable legs and glow-in-dark options make the Bot a collectible piece. Mix-and-match color combos across Bot, Hoot, and Shroom add to the appeal.
Users who switch between cart sizes. The dual 510 design — concealed for small carts, open top for large carts — means one battery works with everything. No second battery needed for 2g carts.
Who Should Skip It
Stealth-first users. This is a glowing robot. It’s the opposite of discreet.
Auto-draw fans. Button-only. No inhale-to-fire option.
Budget buyers. The Kodo Star ($19.99) or Kodo Plus ($12.99) give you comparable or better specs for less money — minus the character design.
