eGo-T Battery Guide: The Classic 510 Pen in Every Size (650–1100mAh)

eGo-T Battery Guide: The Classic 510 Pen in Every Size (650–1100mAh)

The Battery That Started Everything

Before there were OLED screens, Galaxy animations, auto-draw sensors, and robot-shaped novelty vapes — there was the eGo-T. A stainless steel cylinder with a button, a 510 connection, and enough battery to get through a day. That’s it. That’s the whole device.

The eGo-T didn’t just launch DiscountVapePen — it launched the entire vaping industry. In the early 2010s, when “vaping” meant an eGo pen and a CE4 clearomizer filled with e-liquid, the eGo-T was the device that convinced millions of smokers there was a better way. It was affordable, reliable, and simple enough that anyone could use it.

And here’s the thing: people still buy them. Every week. Not because they don’t know about newer technology — but because for certain use cases, nothing beats the eGo-T’s combination of massive battery life, dead-simple operation, and rock-bottom price. If you want a battery that turns on, heats your cart, and lasts for days without needing a screen, a menu, or a tutorial — the eGo-T does exactly that.

We carry three sizes. They’re all the same battery with the same features — the only difference is how long they last between charges.

🛒 THE eGo-T LINEUP:

eGo-T 650mAh — The compact one. Shortest length, lightest weight. Half-day to full day of moderate use.

eGo-T 900mAh — The middle ground. 800+ puffs per charge. Full day for most users.

eGo-T 1100mAh — The marathon runner. 600–1200 puffs. 11+ hours of runtime. Multi-day battery for moderate users.

What Every eGo-T Has in Common

Regardless of which size you choose, every eGo-T battery shares these features:

Fixed 3.7V output. No variable voltage, no twist dial, no settings to adjust. The eGo-T fires at 3.7V every time. This is a perfectly usable voltage for most standard oil cartridges and the ideal voltage for CE4/CE5 clearomizers. You won’t get the low-temp flavor chasing of a 2.0V battery or the cloud production of a 4.2V battery — but 3.7V is right in the middle where most people vape anyway.

Dual 510 + eGo threading. This is something most modern batteries don’t have. The eGo-T accepts both standard 510 threaded cartridges (every modern oil cart) AND legacy eGo-threaded tanks and clearomizers (CE4, CE5, eVod, Protank). If you have old eGo tanks from years ago, the eGo-T is one of the few batteries that still works with them natively — no adapter needed. For 510-only batteries that need eGo compatibility, a 510-to-eGo adapter does the job for $2.

Single-button operation. Five clicks to turn on. Five clicks to turn off. Hold the button while inhaling to fire. That’s the entire user manual. No menus, no click sequences for voltage, no preheat activation. The simplicity is the feature.

Stainless steel body. Metal construction that feels solid and survives daily pocket carry. Not plastic, not aluminum — actual stainless steel that resists dents and scratches better than most modern budget batteries.

USB charger included. Every eGo-T comes with a proprietary 510-threaded USB charger. You unscrew your cart, screw on the charger, and plug it into any USB port. It’s not USB-C (this is legacy hardware), but the charger is included in the box and replacements are cheap.

Safety features. 5-click lock/unlock prevents accidental firing in your pocket. 10-second auto cutoff prevents overheating. Over-discharge protection stops the battery from draining past the point where it could be damaged.

Which Size Should You Get?

Get the 650mAh if: You want the shortest, lightest eGo-T. You’re a light user (10–15 puffs per day). You want a compact backup battery. You’re on the tightest possible budget.

Get the 900mAh if: You want the balance between size and battery life. 800+ puffs is enough for a full day of moderate use without being noticeably longer or heavier than the 650. This is the size most people should start with.

Get the 1100mAh if: You want to charge as infrequently as possible. 11+ hours of runtime means moderate users can go 2–3 days between charges. Heavy users get a solid full day. If you’re used to disposables dying mid-day, the 1100mAh will feel like it never runs out.

💡 PRO TIP: The price difference between sizes is usually just a couple dollars. Unless you specifically need the smallest possible pen, the 1100mAh is almost always the better value — you’re paying a tiny premium for nearly double the battery life of the 650mAh.

Who Still Buys the eGo-T in 2026?

With all the modern batteries available — OLED screens, 0.1V precision, auto-draw, concealed designs — why would anyone buy an eGo-T?

People who use CE4/CE5 clearomizers for e-liquid. The eGo-T’s dual threading (510 + eGo) works natively with legacy eGo-threaded tanks that modern batteries don’t support without an adapter. If you’re still using a CE4 for nicotine e-liquid, the eGo-T is the natural battery.

People who want the simplest possible device. No voltage settings to figure out. No screen to read. No click sequences to memorize. Turn it on, hold the button, inhale. Some people don’t want features — they want a tool that works.

Bulk buyers and smoke shops. At under $10 per unit with charger included, the eGo-T is the cheapest reliable 510 battery for retail display. We sell bulk 20-packs for shops that want ready-to-sell batteries at wholesale pricing.

People who prioritize battery life above everything. The 1100mAh eGo-T has more capacity than most modern pen-style batteries. If you don’t care about variable voltage or screens and just want the thing to last, 1100mAh in a pen body is hard to beat at this price.

Nostalgia. Some people bought their first eGo-T a decade ago and keep coming back because it’s familiar. There’s something to be said for a product that hasn’t changed because it didn’t need to.

eGo-T vs Modern Cart Batteries: Honest Comparison

The eGo-T is not the best cart battery available. It’s important to be upfront about that. Here’s where it wins and where it doesn’t:

Where the eGo-T wins: Battery life per dollar (1100mAh for under $10), simplicity (zero learning curve), dual threading (510 + eGo), durability (stainless steel), and charger included in the box.

Where modern batteries win: Variable voltage (the eGo-T’s fixed 3.7V can’t be lowered for live resin or raised for thick distillate), USB-C charging (the eGo-T uses a proprietary 510 charger), preheat (the eGo-T doesn’t have it), screens and displays, auto-draw option, concealed/stealth designs, and lower voltage floors for flavor.

The bottom line: If you vape standard distillate carts at medium voltage and don’t need adjustability, the eGo-T is a workhorse that costs less than lunch. If you vape live resin, CBD, or thick concentrates that benefit from low voltage and preheat, a modern battery like the Yocan Kodo Star or Airis Cube 900 will serve you better. The CE4 Starter Kit

If you’re looking for the complete original vaping setup — battery, tank, and charger — we still carry the eGo CE4 1100mAh Starter Kit. It includes the 1100mAh eGo-T battery, a CE4 clearomizer tank (for e-liquid, not oil cartridges), and a USB charger. This is a nicotine e-liquid setup, but the battery itself works with any 510 oil cartridge if you unscrew the CE4 and attach a cart instead.

A note on terminology: “Cart battery” and “510 thread battery” mean the same thing — one’s the everyday term, the other’s the technical name. The eGo-T is technically both a 510 battery AND an eGo battery, since it has dual threading. Learn more →
