How Long Will My Atomizer Last Before Replacement Is Needed

Atomizers are an essential component in any vaping device. Without atomizers, vaping devices are little more than battery operated boxes. With so much importance placed on atomizers, it’s good to know how to take care of them. Among other things, this entails replacing them when needed.

How Long Do Atomizers Last?

There are any number of determining factors that figure into how long an atomizer can last. If, throughout most of the day, you vape fairly consistency, and your sessions are lengthy, you would be considered a heavy vaper. If, every time you vape, you only take a couple of drags during each session, your atomizer will last longer, and you would be considered moderate. If, however, throughout your day, you only take a few hits here and there, you would be considered a light vaper.

  • Light vapers can probably get about 3 weeks out of an atomizer.
  • Moderate vapers can expect approximately 2 weeks out of an atomizer.
  • Heavy vapers might be lucky to get 1 week out of an atomizer.

Now, with all of that said, there have been instances where atomizers lasted for only a couple of days, and other instances where atomizers lasted for months.

What Affects the Life of an Atomizer?

In addition to how frequently you vape, the following can greatly affect the lifespan of your atomizer:

  • Manual batteries – if held down for too long, or constantly, these can quickly burn out an atomizer.
  • Low resistance atomizers – the atomizers life is shortened in this case because, in order to produce more vapor and flavor, they (LR atomizers) fire up hotter.
  • What you vape – wax atomizers have been known to last up to 12 weeks or, with moderate to heavy use, four weeks.

How Do I Know If My Atomizer Is Working?

They are fragile little items, these atomizers. They can suddenly, and without warning, simply stop working. If your atomizer isn’t working properly, even though it’s been fired up for a long time, you might notice very weak vapor or a lack of it altogether.

If you hear a kind of sizzling sound when you fire up your vape, your atomizer is still among the living. The absence of any sizzling signals the final days of your atomizer. Your atomizer may be burnt out as well if you are having a hard time drawing air through the mouthpiece.

It may, however, be clogged. Your chamber can’t vaporize if burnt up e-juice is gunking up the wick. Cleaning/and or replacement is the recommended solution. The clogging of an atomizer is more likely to happen with e-juices that contain high VG (vegetable glycol) concentrations. This type of fluid has a sticky, thick nature.

Flat batteries are another problem that can be mistaken for a bad atomizer. Try charging your battery and firing up again before you decide that your atomizer has had it.

And, as with most things in life, the better the quality of atomizer you buy, the longer it is likely to last. Remember, as well, that thoroughly cleaning your atomizer coils on a regular basis will assist in extending the life of your atomizer. After each use, it is recommended that you clean the chamber and coils with a Q-tip dipped in isopropyl alcohol.
